Societas Liturgica is an international body of liturgical scholars, educators and practitioners. It promotes the study and development of liturgy and worship in an ecumenical forum. This reflects the vision of the Societas’ founders and the continuing value of discussion and encounter for those engaged in liturgical studies.
Societas Liturgica’s main activity is a biennial congress, and members are encouraged through this forum to be actively engaged in the exchange of research and ideas. Societas places emphasis on encouraging young scholars.
Societas oversees the production of the peer-reviewed journal Studia Liturgica, which is published by SAGE. The journal aims principally to foster the sharing of current research of a high standard in the complex areas of the study of worship. Major presentations from the biennial congresses are published in Studia Liturgica.
La Societas Liturgica est une association internationale regroupant des chercheurs en science liturgique et des acteurs de la pastorale liturgique. Elle promeut l’étude et le développement de la liturgie dans un contexte œcuménique, par fidélité aux intuitions des fondateurs de la société convaincus de la fécondité de la rencontre et du dialogue entre tous les acteurs de la liturgie.
L’activité principale de la Societas Liturgica est un congrès bisannuel. Ce congrès favorise la participation active des membres de la Societas Liturgica à la recherche et à l’échange d’idées. Depuis ses origines, la Societas Liturgica met l’accent sur l’encouragement et la promotion du travail de jeunes chercheurs.
La Societas Liturgica supervise la production de la revue à comité de lecture Studia Liturgica, dont l’édition est assurée par SAGE. La revue vise principalement à favoriser le partage et la diffusion à haut niveau de la recherche contemporaine dans le domaine de la liturgie et du culte. Die Societas Liturgica ist eine internationale Gemeinschaft von Liturgiewissenschaftlerinnen und -wissenschaftlern und von Verantwortlichen für liturgische Ausbildung und Praxis. Die Societas Liturgica fördert das Studium der Liturgie sowie die Gottesdienstentwicklung im ökumenischen Kontext. Sie knüpft damit an die Vision der Gründungsgeneration der Societas an und bekräftigt die fortwährende Notwendigkeit von Austausch und Begegnung derer, die sich für die Sache der Liturgie engagieren.
